Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Biomedical Resource Site

The information presented here is a combination of published medical research, my own personal experience  and those of countless other parents that are willing to share their knowledge on internet discussion groups. I am grateful for their wisdom and support over the years in helping in my sons recovery. The personal experience of parents is an invaluable learning opportunity. Much of the knowledge that I have gained is not available in books. The wealth of knowledge available has been gained by parents pushing the boundaries of biomedical treatment, willing to try new therapies, and experiment with new supplements and dosages. Why? Because parents feel that they do not have the luxury of time to wait for orthodox medicine to run proper controlled studies while they watch their child continuing to regress further into the autism spectrum. Nor are doctors or companies willing to perform such studies due to the financial cost involved, and there are no financial incentives as diets and supplements cannot be patented for financial gain.

There are a few organisations like the Autism Research Institute, Pfeiffer Treatment Center, and the DAN! Project who are conducting active research and continually refining biomedical treatments for our children with great success. Since 1967, The Autism Research Institute (ARI), has been collating parent ratings of the usefulness of many interventions tried on their autistic children.
